Today, I’m going to share the Indian Tomato Chicken Curry recipe with you and I am sure you will definitely like it. 

Ingredients:

  • 500 gm chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 cup yoghurt
  • 1/4 cup oil or ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  • Marinate the Chicken:
    • In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with yoghurt, half of the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Cooking the Chicken:
    • Heat oil or ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
    • Add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
    • Add the remaining ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
    • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy and the oil starts to separate from the masala.
  • Spice it Up:
    • Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the spices are well incorporated.
  • Cooking the Chicken (Continued):
    • Add the marinated chicken to the pan. Cook on high heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chicken is browned.
  • Simmer and Tenderize:
    • Reduce the heat to low. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook in its juices for about 20-25 minutes or until it is tender. Stir occasionally.
  • Finishing Touch:
    • Once the chicken is cooked, sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Adjust salt and spice levels according to your taste.
  • Garnish and Serve:
